“Geometry of Jets and Fields”

Dear Colleagues,
our conference “Geometry of Jets and Fields” will start soon. We are looking forward to meeting you in Będlewo. Up-to-date information about the conference can be found on the web page http://www.impan.pl/~gjf/.
We would like to turn your attention to the following topics:
1. Schedule: Current schedule of the conference can be found on the web page (link
“programme” ). Please check if your talk have been planned correctly and that you have no objections about the time and date. Most titles and abstracts of lectures are available on the web page. Speakers who did not send us information about their lectures are kindly requested to do it as soon as possible. We will soon prepare the printed version of the conference materials.
2. Poster sessions are planned for Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. There will be the
“best poster contest”, i.e. participants will vote for the best poster. The author of the winning poster will be given the opportunity to present his/her results during special talk on Friday afternoon. We would like to ask all authors of posters to be prepared to give such a talk.
3. Social events: Since the conference is not only a scientific event but also a kind of birthday party, we plan a few additional social activities. On Monday (in case of fair weather) we will invite all the participants to the special dinner with grill, beer, and bonfire. On Wednesday afternoon there will be the trip to Poznań, where we will visit the local brewery. On Wednesday evening, in turn, there will be the conference dinner. Small contributions towards drinks expenses will be welcome.
4. Proceedings: It is possible to publish the proceedings of the conference as a volume of “Banach Center Publications”. We would like to ask invited speakers to think if they are interested in it. The decision will be made during the conference.
5. Arrivals: On Sunday (May 10th) conference buses, starting from Poznań airport and Poznań Main Station (Poznań Główny), will take you to the conference center:
a. From Poznań Główny leaving shortly after 5:30 pm. The bus will be waiting at the parking place near Dworzec Letni (Summer Train Station). Dworzec Letni is one of the buildings of the main train station in Poznań. One can see it on Google Street View (look for “Dworzec Letni Poznań”).
b. From Poznań Airport leaving about 4:30 pm. The bus will be waiting near the entrance.
The busses will carry the sign “Geometry of Jets and Fields”. Those who intend to use one of the busses and have not informed the organizers yet should do it now, since we have to use the proper size of the bus.
Some participants have already been contacted by e-mail about taxi service. Meeting point with the taxi driver at the train station is near ticket office nr 1. Meeting point with the taxi driver at the airport is near the money exchange office. The Conference Center in Będlewo cooperates with the taxi company called “Taxi Express”
(http://www.taxiexpress.pl/ ) . It is recommended to use this company while traveling on your own.

6. Departures: Timetable and organization of departures will be prepared during the conference.
7. Currency: Note that there have been some changes in exchange rates lately. 1 EUR is now approximately 4 PLN.
