THE ANIMAL FILES
The giraffe has long legs and a very long neck. It has small ears, but large eyes. Giraffes live in savannahs in Africa. Some of them weigh 2 tonnes. They are orange or brown. They eat leaves from trees.
The cheetah is a big cat. It is 1.5 m long and weighs about 70 kilograms. Cheetahs are brown coloured and they have small black spots. They eat antelopes and other animals. They live in central Africa and in Asia.
The elephant is the largest land animal. It weighs between 4 and 7 tonnes! Elephants are grey or brown. They have very large ears and a long trunk. There are African and Asian elephants. They eat grass and they like fruits very much.
The ostrich is a large bird, but it cannot fly. It is black and white and has very large eyes. It is almost 3 m tall and weighs between 100 and 160 kilograms. Ostriches eat grass, leaves and flowers. They live in Africa.
