A computer calculation is made to determine the static behaviour of a tower-crane when subjected to heavy storm. Objective is to find useful information regarding the stresses and displacements, when the tower-crane is fixed to a building.

To make it possible to make any calculations, the tower-crane has to be modelled. This requires some secundary simplifications.

According to the calculations made, the fixation has a very positive influence on the stresses and displacements of the tower. From the calculated data on the the static behaviour, it can even be concluded that not the stormload but the mass of the tower-crane is crucial to the maximum height of the crane.
