PROBABILITY CALCULUS 2019/2020

COURSE RULES

1. Lectures take place on Tuesdays, 11:30 AM. Presence during lectures is recommended.

2. Attendance during classes is mandatory. Four or more unjustified absences signify failure of the course.

3. Class grades are awarded based on the results of 7 short tests, verifying the knowledge from the previous lecture (notions, theorems) and previous class. In order to obtain a positive grade, 6 out of 7 short tests must be passed.

4. Each short test may be retaken exactly once.

5. The class grade may be increased based on class activity (but only if the grade is positive, see pt 3 above).

6. Throughout the semester, there will be sets of homework problems to solve. The solutions should be submitted during classes one week after they are posted. Each homework set may be corrected exactly once.

7. The midterm test will be held on December 3rd, 2019 at 6:45 PM in Audytorium Maximum, Krakowskie Przedmiescie st. 26/28.

8. All students have the right to attend the midterm.

9. Students who passed classes are entitled to write the final exam during the first term.

10. The final grade in the first term consists of the sum of points from the midterm test (max. 40 p.), final test (max. 50 p.) and homework (max 10 p.).

11. The retake exam will also be graded on a scale from 0-50p. The final grade in the second term will be calculated as the maximum of the two: (midterm points + final exam points + homework points) and ((9/5) final exam points + homework points).

12. Students who repeat the course must repeat classes.

13. Course materials (Problem sets, Homework sets, Lecture notes) are available online at www.wne.uw.edu.pl/azylicz
