Ogniwa paliwowe to jedno z ekologicznych źródeł energii elektrycznej.
Fuel cells are unique ecological electrical energy sources. However, an efficiency of the fuel cell containing solid electrolyte, SOFC, is getting lower with time of utilization. It is due to corrosion processes of the metallic interconnects joining individual cells into the stack. The typical material used to formation of the interconnects are ferritic stainless steels containing high concentration of chrome. Such steels are modified by alloy addition, named as active element. Active elements such as yttrium or some lanthanides reduce rate of the Cr2O3 scale formation and enhance adhesion of the scale to metallic
substrate. It is not possible to introduce higher amount of the alloy addition then its solubility limit using metallurgical method. It is possible to improve the heat stability of the alloys forming protective layer of the Cr2O3scale by
deposition of the active element oxides on alloy surface. The effect of nanoparticles of the oxides: yttrium, cerium, samarium and gadolinium on the oxidation Crofer 22APU steel has been studied in this work. The cyclic oxidation at 900°C in air has been applied. Two methods: electrolytic and dipping methods have been elaborated. The ionic implantation of yttrium was adopted in order to comparison. It was found that the highest increase of the corrosion resistance of the Croffer 22 APU steel was observed in case of the gadolinium oxide nanoparticles.
