Man: OK, so I’ll drive straight to the airport. See you there.

From today until Saturday we have cheaper clothes for you. Every day a different item of clothing will have a lower price. Today it’s up to 70% off on T-shirts, tomorrow all jackets and on Wednesday all trousers will be much cheaper.

Girl: Ok, but first we should help Dad in the kitchen.
Boy: We don’t have to. Mum is helping him.
Girl: Oh, I thought she was watching TV in the living room.
Boy: No, the film finished an hour ago. Let’s go inside and bring the table out. We’ll put it under this tree.
Girl: Great. It’s so nice and warm.

Girl: Olivia, I’m phoning to thank you for your invitation, but I’m afraid I can’t come.
I’m really sorry about this. I asked my parents and they said that they were going out in the evening. I’ll have to stay with my little brother. I know it’s a problem for you and I feel bad about it, but there’s nothing I can do.

Zadanie 2.
Boy: Hi, Lisa. How are you?
Girl: Hi, Jack. I’m tired. I’ve been preparing for a test. Fortunately, it wasn’t as difficult as I expected. Listen, I forgot to tell you I can’t go to the Lions concert with you on Saturday. My grandma has broken her leg and I’ve got to do some shopping for her. She lives close to us so it won’t take much time to do it, but I want to spend the whole weekend with her.
Boy: I’m sorry to hear about your grandma. Maybe I should ask Paul? He is mad about the band.
Girl: Paul? No. His family is moving into a new house. His parents need him. He’ll have to carry boxes and do some cleaning.
Boy: Really? I didn’t know.
Girl: We must visit him one day.
Boy: Sure. I could ask Philip then. I know he’s got an important test on Friday, so after that he’ll want to relax at the weekend. He’s been very busy for the last few days.
Girl: Jack, don’t you remember? He’s got his karate tournament. He’s going to London for the whole weekend. He won’t be here on Saturday. He’s coming back on Monday.
Boy: Looks like I’ll have to take my brother with me.
Girl: Well, Jack, I’m sure you’ll both have fun.
Zadanie 3.
Man: May I have your attention, please? The sports teachers want to start a climbing club in our school. The club meetings will be held once a week. We won’t have to go outside the school to practise because, as you have probably seen, we have just installed a climbing wall in our gym. Last week the school also bought helmets, ropes and backpacks. Next year, when you are ready for a challenge, we’ll travel to the mountains to do some real climbing. We will go there two times a year: once in September and once in April. Of course, we will start with easy tasks, so don’t be afraid. If you are interested, see your PE teacher to sign up. Everyone is invited.
