My favourite city is New York. It is in the USA. New York’s nickname is The Big Apple.
8 million people live in New York.
Parks
Manhattan is the centre of New York. In Manhattan you can go to Central Park. In the park you can ride a bicycle, rollerblade or ride a horse. In winter you can ice-skate there. In the city there are many other parks where you can relax and have a picnic.
New York has got a lot of skyscrapers. The Empire State Building is over 85 years old. It has got 102 floors. You can go to the top of it and see the city. You can see Egyptian mummies and modern art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The New York City Marathon is very famous. 50,000 people run the marathon every year in November. Baseball is a popular team sport in the USA. In New York you can go and see a baseball game at the Yankee Stadium.
In New York you can eat food from all around the world. There are many expensive restaurants, but you can also buy delicious hot dogs and hamburgers out on the street.
