Inleiding
Van de NH
3 - fabriek die door de G -- groep 1983 ontworpen is, word-::'
de totale investering bepaald. Deze opdrachL is in het kader van
het vak ml7 IJ De chemische fabriek IJ.

Een· 'methode om tot een kosten-berekening van een chemische fabriek
te komen is de factor-methode. De algemene gedacht.e is daarbi.j; Bepaal de kostprijs van de apparatuur die aan de fabriek geleverd wordt·. Vervolgens via toeslagen ,de fundatie ,montage, instrumentatie hulpdiensten etc. de uiteindeli.jke kostprijs bepalen.
De "Hiller methode" is een verfijning van de factor methode van Lang. (Lang-factor: kosten v/e fabriek

een factor x totale apparaatkosten)
Milier splitst de fabriek in vier sectoren;
-1 procesinstallaties (Battery Limit) B/L -2 opslag en verpomping (Storage & Handling) S&H -3 hulpdiensten (Uti li t ies:stoom,gas,lucht,electrici teit) U -4 overhead (Services: lab. ,wegen etc.) S
De methode \verkt op basis van de gewiddelàe apparaat kosten. Hen moet
van aJle ,voor het proces,belangrijke appa::::-aten (/l1]?I) de kosten bepalen, het totaal delen door het aantal apparaten levert de gemiddelde uniL prij s. De toeslagen ·..,orden bi j de "basic equipment 11 opgeteld.
Basic equiplTlént == Nain Plant Items + l'1i.scellaneous Unl isted Iteins. Deze laat:ste groep apparaten (st:aan niet op de flowsheet) wordt geschót.
Het bepalen van de apparaat kostprijzen heeft volgens de "Guthrie-methode" plaats gevonden, op basis van de afmetingen, cons·tructie materiaal en de werkdruk.

We maken gebruik van de Chemical Engineering Plant Cost Index. (CE-index)
Het basis jaar is 1958. In deze index zijn de inflatie,produktivite
its-veranderingen etc. verwerkt.
Voor de Miller-methode zijn alle apparaat prijzen terug gerekend naar
1958.
Deze amerikaanse CE-index is ook in Nederland te gebruiken,zonder rekening te houden met de "locatie-factor". De locat iefactor USA/Nederland

1Miller werkt met een drie keuze selectie voor de toeslag-factoren; laag, hoog en de waarschijnlijke factor. Ui t de praktijk blijkt dat de kans klein is dat alle lage of hoge schattin<]en tegelijkertijd voorkomen. Er vindt een correctie plaats. (laag + 10% en hoog - 10%)
Bij de toeslag voor S&H,U en S neemt men de factoren op basis van de
gemiddelde (=waarschijnlijke) kosten, die dan bij de lage- respectivelijk

De kostprijs van de meeste apparaten is berekend in samenwerking
met de groep die de investeringen berekent volgens de methode van Guthrie en is weergegeven in de onderstaande tabel.De koelmachine is met behulp van het Webci-boekje berekend, de prijs van de pakking
is geleverd door Norton Chemicals te Zoetermeer en de synthese reactor-, 2e reforrner-, waste heat boiler-, en purge unit prijzen zijn gegeven
door D.S.M .. De wasteheatboiler en purge unit prijs is aangepast
aan de NH
3 fabriek ontworpen door de G-groep.
De apparaatr!Ummer~ in de tabel komen overeen met de nummers in het
flowsheet.

Nawoord
De uiteindelijke investering prijs (echter zonder engineering,b
elas-tin gen en katalysator) is redelijk in overeenstemming met die van DSM.
(247 milj. gld)
Een aantal kanttekeningen bij onze schatting van de fabrieks prijs:
Wij hebben een hoge gem. unit kostprijs, wat is de waarde van de
fak-toren? (Hoe hoger de gem. kostprijs,hoe kleiner de faktoren)
Miller werkt met gemiddelden,hetgeen als een bezwaar kan worden aangemerkt.
Misschien is de faktor-methode volgens Guthrie,die per apparaat werkt,
wat nauwkeuriger.
De invloed van de dollar-koers is gering.
De grootste onzekerheden vormen de Purge-unit en de koelmachine.
Ter afsluiting: Het "four area concept" van Miller gaat o.i.z. uit van
een complete fabriek (grass roots) Voor de NH
3
-plant van DSM zijn deServices en de Utilities gedeeltelijk al aanwezig op hun terrein _
