pp. 367, illustrated, summaries
Another volume of the annual periodical published since 1995 by the National Archive (for-mer State Archive) in Cracow (cf. http://www.kra.archiwum.krakow.pl/, which includes tables of contents as well as links to volumes 1–15 available online). For a reader of Hereditas Monas-teriorum, four texts may be of particular interest.
The first one, Z dziejów krakowskich cechów – msze cechowe w kościele św. Macieja [From the
History of Cracow Guilds – Guild Masses in the Church of St. Matthias], ed. K. Follprecht, briefly
presents the history of the church built in the 15th century, handed over to Jesuits in 1585. The author discusses extensively its fortunes between the suppression of the Society of Jesus in 1773, and 1802, when the church was pulled down. Moreover, she publishes –in Polish– an article entitled Zasady patronatu cechów krakowskich nad kościołem św. Macieja uzgodnione
z Magistratem krakowskim w 1776 r. [Regulations concerning the patronage of Cracow guilds over the church of St. Matthias consulted with the Cracow municipal council in 1776.]
The second one, Diary of an Unjust and Terrible Captivity, ed. J. Marecki, is an edition (in Polish) of a document Diariusz niesprawiedliwej i okropnej niewoli Jaśnie Oświeconego Księcia Kajetana
Sołtyka Krakowskiego [biskupa], od Kapituły szalonym uczynionego, w Seminarium zamkowym więzionego w roku 1782, od dnia 23 lutego [Diary of an unjust and terrible captivity of Enlightened Duke Kajetan Sołtyk Krakowski [bishop], of the Chapter driven insane]. Written anonymously, it
was sent to Agnieszka Scholastyka Łojowska, abbess of the abbey of Benedictine sisters in Staniątki.
The third one, ed. M. Andrasz-Mrożek, is entitled to Inventory from 1822 of the Inn at the
Kościuszko Mound, Built by the Convent of the Norbertine sisters in Zwierzyniec.
The fourth article, The Archive of the Dominican Monastery in Gidle by A. Litewka, discuss-es the history of the Gidle monastery from the foundation in 1615 to the 1901 dissolution (and reopening after 1918). The author has also organised fond Gidle, Dominican monastery in the Archiwum Polskiej Prowincji Dominikanów [Archive of the Polish Province of Domin-ican Fathers]. The fond consists of 236 archival units (around 5,5 lm) of records from (1479) 1615–1998. Records pertinent to the project Cultural heritage of dissolved monasteries on the
territory of former Poland and in Silesia in 18th and 19th centuries: fate, significance, cataloguing
[Dziedzictwo kulturowe po klasztorach skasowanych na ziemiach dawnej Rzeczypospolitej oraz
na Śląsku w XVIII i XIX w.: losy, znaczenie, inwentaryzacja] mentioned by the author are, among
other documents: inventories of the church and monastery from 1615–1927 (ref. no. 185 i Gi 56, including 1713 inventory) and records of the Carthusian monastery in Gidle (ref. no. Gi 225-227).
