General Information
1) All students must take 180 credit hours of a foreign language before successfully completing their program of study.
2) Foreign language courses are incorporated in the model curriculum of studies for semesters 2, 3, and 4.
3) International students may choose courses of Polish or of any other foreign language.
4) All students ( both Polish and International) admitted to the Faculty in the academic year 2018/2019 must pass the English exam at C1 Academic level before successfully completing their study program

Detailed rules and guidelines for students admitted to WUT in the academic year 2018/19
Sem 1 30 h
International students are recommended to take a 30-hour course of Polish
Registration online according to the instructions available on www.sjo.pw.edu.pl (click : Polish for Foreigners)
or in person with Ms Marta Szpak, MA during her office hours.
Students earn credits for course completion.
Other first-semester students are not required to attend foreign language courses.
Sem 2 30+30 h
All students are required to take the placement test at the B2 level during their first meeting in the semester
Students with placement test results below the required B2+ level
Are allocated to groups preparing for B2 exam.
Students earn credits for course completion.
Students with placement test results at the required B2+ level
A course in Academic and Scientific English at C1 level . Students earn credits for course completion.
Students at C2 level (CPE) and native speakers have no foreign language classes, the C1 exam is deemed passed on presenting a recognized language certificate or a foreign (English) secondary school-leaving certificate and an academic presentation.
AND All students choose another foreign language. International students may continue their course of Polish.
Sem 3 30+30 h
Students that still have not passed their C1 exam.
A course in Academic and Scientific English at C1 level .
End-of-course exam at C1 level based on IELTS Academic AND another foreign language
Students that have already passed or were exempt from C1 exam
Another language to be continued until all the remaining free credit hours have been used. International students may choose to continue attending their course of Polish in the successive modules.
Sem 4 30+30
Students that have already passed the C1 exam
Continue a course in another foreign language, until all the remaining free credit hours have been used. International students may choose to continue attending their course of Polish in the successive modules.
