W celu analizy możliwości rozwiązania problemu nieliniowego przedstawiono go jako problem optymalizacyjny z ograniczeniami. Dokonano porównania różnych metod optymalizacyjnych i wskazano najlepsze.
Shaping of the magnetic field distribution using advanced computational methods
The doctoral dissertation is devoted to shaping [synthesis] of the magnetic field in the air coils.
Shaping of the magnetic field can be achieved by changing currents in the coil wires and/or selecting appropriate shape of the winding. The problem of shaping the field by changing values of currents is a linear problem and can be solved by linear algebra methods for the constrained problems. On the other hand, selecting the shape of the winding is a nonlinear problem. In order to apply different optimization techniques, the design problem is formulated as a non-linear optimization problem with constraints. In the dissertation different optimization methods are compared in terms of quality of the magnetic field and the computation time. Most of the dissertation is devoted to obtaining a homogeneous magnetic field, due to their important applications (e.g. in medical diagnostic devices). The problem of shaping non-homogeneous magnetic field is also considered. In the last part of the dissertation, an analysis of the real coil designed by the author is carried out.
