ßens und der benachbarten Völker gelehrte und bedeutende Männer nach Königsberg gezogen, von denen die einen die Jugend die lateinische Grammatik lehren und nach Möglichkeit an einen reinen und natürlichen Stil im schriftlichen Gebrauch der lateinischen Sprache gewöhnen, die andern griechische und hebräische Schriftsteller vortragen sollen, weil die kirchlichen Quellen in diesen Sprachen geschrieben sind. Wieder andere sollen die Anfänge der Mathematik und Philosophie lehren. Diesen haben w ir Lektoren der Kirchenlehre, des bürgerlichen Rechts und der Medizin zugesellt, damit es den Wissensdurstigen an keinem der Fächer fehle, die in gut aufgebauten Akademien gelehrt werden und das Leben der Menschen entweder lenken öder angenehm gestalten. Um jedoch geeignete Gelehrte heranzuziehen, verleihen w ir höhere Gehälter, als sie in Deutschland üblich sind, und zu gegebener Zeit werden w ir denjenigen, deren Bildung, Fleiß, Treue und Ausdauer sich fü r die Akademie von höherem Nutzen erweist, zusätzliche Privilegien vÄleihen... Allen jenen aber, die an unserer Hochschule sich den Wissenschaften widmen werden, erteilen w ir "las Privileg, daß sie in unserem Lande bei allen Vakanzen vor andern bevorzugt werden sollen. Aus Rücksicht auf diese hätte sie später auch das Begehren des Bischofs Heshusius, die akademischen Statuten in die deutsche Sprache zu übersetzen und in derselben alle halben Jahre öffentlich zu verlesen, abgelehnt.
