Woman: Welcome to our science programme. Today we’re speaking with Dave, who has an interesting job. Dave, what do you do?
Man: Good morning everybody. Well, I’m a person responsible for transporting animals. Some people use special cars. But not us. We don’t put them in trains, either. My company transports animals by plane. For example, when the Aquarium in Chicago was renovated, I flew its seven whales to a different aquarium.
Woman: Whales? So how does a whale travel?
Man: Each one is in a metal container. The box isn’t completely filled with water; there’s just enough to keep the animal wet.
Woman: If you’re moving many animals together, how do you decide where to put each one?
Man: Everything has to be balanced, so they have to be in specific places. But you still want everyone to be calm during the flight. You don’t want to put rabbits next to cheetahs. That’s not a good idea.
Woman: What’s the craziest transport you’ve ever done?
Man: We were moving 17 pandas from the U.S. to China. We had only 3 days for it so I had to organize everything in one night!
Woman: What are you working on now?
Man: Our next order is two planes carrying 77 horses from Belgium to Japan. You never know what you’re going to get at this job. It could be anything.

Woman: Attention everybody! I would like to remind you that we’re organizing the Earth Day this Thursday. It means that you won’t have any lessons so leave your textbooks at home. Inste- ad, you should come to class no. 7 at 8 a.m. to get the plastic bags and gloves. So do not bring anything, because we provide all the necessary equipment. Remember only to take a waterpro- of coat and wellingtons, as it may rain. The park cleaning will last about two hours and then you’re going to return to school for lunch. One hour later you’ll have a meeting with John Barry in class 4C. He’s a scientist, who’ll tell you everything about recycling and eco-friendly living.

Zadanie 2.
2.1.Boy: I remember when I went swimming in the swimming pool. Two days before I got a new smartphone. I wore long swimming trunks with pockets. I jumped into the pool… and then I remembered my phone was still in my pocket. It was totally damaged and I had to use my old phone for the next six months until my parents bought me a new one.
2.2.Girl: When I was small I was playing with my cousin in my house. We were running around and suddenly I knocked over my parents’ favourite vase. It fell on the ground and smashed into tiny pieces. I told my parents that the dog did it because I was afraid they’ll punish me. But later, when I was 20 or 21 I told them the truth. They laughed – accidents happen, you know!
2.3.Boy: I was 11 years old when I destroyed my digital camera. I was taking photos while standing on the balcony and the camera fell out of my fingers and crashed on the ground. It’s actually funny because the same thing happened to me two years later – this time I was standing on the bridge and the camera fell into the water. I’m still keen on taking photos, though.
2.4.Girl: We moved house last week and my task was to pack all my stuff into the boxes. I had a be- autiful wall clock and when I tried to reach for it, it fell on the floor. The glass was broken and the mechanism stopped working. I took it to the watchmaker and he fixed the mechanism and the glass. Now it’s working perfectly.
