Notes f o r Participants
Advance copies of the papers to be presented are supplied herewith. Participants are p a r t i c u l a r l y requested to bring these to the technical sessions as few spare copies w i l l be available during the Conference.
Contributions ( i n English) to the oral discussion on papers w i l l be welcome but speakers should be b r i e f in order to allow time f o r others to take p a r t . Contributors are requested to use the microphones
provided at the f r o n t of the Conference Hall and to preface t h e i r remarks by s t a t i n g c l e a r l y t h e i r name and organisation.
Participants who wish to speak on individual papers are requested to complete a discussion s l i p available at the Desk and hand i t to the Conference Secretariat in the Conference Hall p r i o r to or during the technical session concerned. While a shorthand w r i t e r w i l l be present during the presentation and discussion of each paper, speakers are asked to pass two w r i t t e n copies of t h e i r c o n t r i b u t i o n ( i n English) to the Conference Secretariat in the Conference Hall e i t h e r before the session commences or immediately a f t e r speaking. I f the c o n t r i b u t o r ' s f i r s t language i s not English, a second version of his remarks in his own language should also be supplied. The Conference organisers w i l l not be held responsible f o r any inaccuracies in the printed Proceedings in cases where contributors have not confirmed t h e i r remarks in w r i t i n g as directed above^ '
The shorthand w r i t e r ' s t r a n s c r i p t s of remarks made during the discussion of papers w i l l not be sent to contributors f o r correction before inclusion in the Conference Proceedings.
Normal f a c i l i t i e s w i l l be available i n the Conference Hall f o r the projection of i l l u s t r a t i o n s (overhead projector and projector f o r 35 mm s l i d e s ) but diagrams can only be accepted f o r inclusion in the printed discussion of technical papers at the e d i t o r ' s d i s c r e t i o n and i f they are absolutely essential to the argument. Two l e t t e r e d black and white glossy p r i n t s of any i l l u s t r a t o n s should be handed to the Conference Secretariat at the same time as the w r i t t e n copies of a c o n t r i b u t o r ' s remarks or be sent immediately a f t e r the Conference.
Written contributions to the discussion of papers w i l l be accepted from registered participants o n l y , provided they are despatched so as to a r r i v e at the Conference S e c r e t a r i a t , Royal I n s t i t u t i o n of Naval
