ima to trudny czas dla kierow-ców i samochodów, stąd nie-zwykle ważne jest właściwe przygotowanie się do podróży w tych miesiącach. Prioryteto-wą czynnością na pewno będzie wymiana opon letnich na zimowe. zazwyczaj robimy to już w październiku, ale jesień 2014 roku bardzo nas rozpieszczała. niewielka ilość deszczu, dużo słońca i ciepłych dni spo-wodowało, że nie czuliśmy nadchodzących mrozów, dlatego kierowcy masowo ruszyli do serwisów dopiero na przełomie listopa-da i grudnia.Jednak wymiana opon, sprawdzenie sta-nu akumulatora i zakupienie sezonowego płynu do spryskiwaczy to nie wszystko, a niestety wielu na tym poprzestaje.
na-leży pamiętać, że zima jest specyficznym okresem, warto więc zadbać też o odpo-wiednie wyposażenie samochodu. będzie ono potrzebne podczas jazdy w górskich rejonach, ale może być pomocne kiedy z powodu nagłych, obfitych opadów śnie-gu utkniemy w miejskim korku lub na au-tostradzie.
banalna rzecz, która może nam zaoszczę-dzić problemów, to ładowarka do telefonu.
Telefony komórkowe są dziś powszechne, jednakże w nowoczesnych smartfonach żywotność baterii jest stosunkowo krótka.
Trzeba wziąć pod uwagę, że na zewnątrz, w ujemnych temperaturach, zużycie ener-gii będzie większe i aparat szybciej się rozładuje. Jeśli ugrzęźniemy w zaspie na jakiś bezdrożach, łączność z pewnością się
przyda, aby wezwać stosowne służby, ale także by powiadomić bliskich o naszej sy-tuacji i możliwym spóźnieniu. Koszt stan-dardowej ładowarki jest niewielki, waha się w okolicy 10–30 zł.
Kolejny niezbędny element zimowego wy-posażenia to linka holownicza. nie służy ona tylko do holowania pojazdu, lecz dzięki niej wydostaniemy auto z rowu lub zaspy.
gdy uda się już zatrzymać przejeżdżające-go kierowcę i poprosić o pomoc, może się okazać, że wypchnięcie samochodu będzie niemożliwe, natomiast wyciągnięcie go przy użyciu innej maszyny oraz linki stanie się znacznie prostsze. W górach, na zaśnieżonych drogach, przy-dadzą się też łańcuchy zimowe. Tutaj wy-bór jest dość duży: od najtańszych, chiń-skich, do nieco droższych znanych firm, takich jak chociażby Pewag, Thule czy Weissenfels. Co może zrażać kierowców do używania łańcuchów? Ich trudny montaż i demontaż. Czołowi producenci rozwiązali ten problem i w oferowanych produktach stosują różne systemy, aby zakładanie było łatwe i szybkie.
Podróżując zimą nie zapominajmy także o kontroli stanu baku. może się bowiem zdarzyć, że staniemy w
wielokilometro-wym zatorze i niewystarczająca ilość pali-wa nie pozwoli nam dojechać do najbliższej stacji benzynowej. O ile latem takie oko-liczności nie są groźne i skutkują jedynie późniejszym dotarciem do celu, w trakcie chłodów wyłączony silnik i brak ogrzewa-nia powodują szybki spadek temperatury wewnątrz pojazdu. To spory kłopot, jeśli np. towarzyszą nam małe dzieci.
Prócz przygotowania auta do zimy i za-kupienia dodatkowego wyposażenia, ko-nieczne jest też odpowiednie dbanie o nie-go. Polscy drogowcy w tym okresie posy-pują ulice solą, której samochody nie lubią.
Sól, w połączeniu z topniejącym śniegiem, bywa przyczyną korozji, dlatego powinno się dość często korzystać z myjni. Czyśćmy nie tylko nadwozie – od czasu do czasu
warto wybrać droższy program i wymyć również podwozie.
na koniec chciałbym przypomnieć, że zima wymaga innego stylu jazdy. Droga ha-mowania na śliskiej nawierzchni staje się dłuższa, istotne jest zatem wytracanie prędkości poprzez redukcję biegów, czyli hamując silnikiem. Przejazd tych samych odcinków, które pokonujemy latem, zajmie więcej czasu, zaplanujmy więc odpowied-nio podróż, by uniknąć pośpiechu i nie-bezpiecznych manewrów. bezwzględnie pamiętajmy o pieszych! Słaba widoczność oraz szybko zapadający zmrok wymagają od kierowcy większego skupienia i uwagi.

The priority, of course, is changing summer tyres for winter ones. Ideally, we should aim to get this done as early as October, but autumn 2014 pampered drivers. little rain, lots of sunshine and warm weather meant that we did not feel the cold com-ing, and so drivers only moved en masse to get their tyres changed in late november and early December.
However, getting the tyres changed, checking the condition of the battery and buying windscreen-washing liquid for win-ter aren’t the only things that need to get done, but unfortunately many people stop at this. Keep in mind that winter
is a very specific period in terms of road conditions, so it’s worth making sure your car has the right equipment. you may only need this equipment when driv-ing in the mountains, but it can also be helpful if you get stuck in a traffic jam on a motorway or even in urban areas during heavy snowfalls.
One, seemingly trivial item that can save us lots of problems, is a phone charger. mobile phones are commonplace, but the bat-tery life of modern smartphones is relatively short. you also need to take into account the fact that outside, in freezing tem-peratures, energy consumption is higher and your handset loses power much faster than usual. If you get stuck in a snowdrift off the beaten track, the ability to call relevant services will cer-tainly come in handy, as will be-ing able to inform relatives about
our situation and informing them of the possibility that we’ll be late. The cost of a standard charger is relatively small, rang-ing around 10–30 Pln.
Another essential element is a tow rope, which serves to not only tow a vehicle, but we’ll also be able to get the car out of a ditch or snowdrift using it, too. Once you’ve successfully waved down a passing driver and asked for help, you may find it impossible to push the car out, but towing
it using another vehicle will make it much easier. The cost of a tow rope, depending on the type and the quality is approx. 20–
60 Pln. At around the same price, you can also buy a small folding shovel that could come in handy in getting your car out of a snowdrift.
Snow chains are very useful on snow-covered roads in the mountains. Here, the choice is quite extensive: from the cheap-est ones made in China, to slightly more expensive ones from well-known compa-nies, such as even Pewag, Thule or Weis-senfels. What can put drivers off using chains? They can be difficult to assemble and disassemble. leading-companies have solved this problem and offer products
em-ploying a range of systems making chains quick and easy.
Doing road trips in winter, don’t forget to check your fuel tank. you may find your-self in a major traffic jam and have insuf-ficient fuel to get you to the nearest petrol station. While during the summer, this may only result in it taking us longer to get to our destination, during cold weather, how-ever, turning off the engine causes a rapid decrease in temperature inside the
vehi-cle. That's quite a problem if, for example, there are small children travelling with us.
Apart from preparing the car for the win-ter by purchasing additional equipment, it is necessary and to take care of your car as well. In Poland, road maintenance crews use salt on the roads, and cars don’t like it. In conjunction with melting snow, salt can cause corrosion and so you need to make sure your car is washed regularly.
As well as cleaning the body, from time to time it’s worth choosing a more expensive programme and washing the car’s under-carriage.
To finish off, I’d like to remind you of the fact that winter forces you to change your
driving style. braking distances on slippery surfaces become longer, and it is therefore important to decelerate using the engine by reducing gears. Travelling similar dis-tances will take longer at this time of the year than in summer. So, plan your journey appropriately to avoid rushing which can lead to dangerous manoeuvres. remember – you must watch out for pedestrians!
