. Opracowano wpływ stanu materiału wyjściowego i parametrów procesu obróbki cieplno-plastycznej na mikrostrukturę stali. Przeprowadzony proces spowodował przebudowę mikrostruktury stali, w szczególności spieków po hartowaniu, odkształcanych w temperaturze odpowiadającej temperaturze końca przemiany austenitycznej. Martenzytyczna mikrostruktura spiekanej stali Fe-0,85Mo-0,65Si-1,4C została przebudowana na mikrostrukturę złożoną z ferrytu i sferoidalnego cementytu. Najbardziej jednorodną mikrostrukturę stali otrzymano po odkształcaniu z prędkością odkształcenia 0,001s-1
Influence of thermo-mechanical treatments on the microstructure
and selected properties of sintered Fe-0.85Mo-0.65Si-1.4C steel
The main aim the work was to develop a thermo-mechanical treatment for an ultrahigh carbon steel, of which the application will transform dynamically the microstructure by accelerated spheroidization of cementite.
Investigations were carried out on as-sintered Fe-0.85Mo-0.65Si-1.4C steel, without heat treatment and after quenching. Based on the results of investigation of the initial material, thermo-mechanical treatment conditions were developed. The deformation was carried out by compression of specimens with a cylindrical shape on a thermo-mechanical testing machine at temperatures of 700 and 775°C and strain rates in the range 0.001 to 1 s-1. These deformation temperatures correspond to austenitization start and austenitization end temperatures. The relationships between the initial material microstructure and thermo-mechanical treatment, and microstructural changes were elaborated. Processing resulted in transformed microstructures, in particular of quenched specimens which were deformed at the temperature corresponding to the austenitization end temperature. Martensite microstructure of sintered Fe-0.85Mo-0.65Si-1.4C steel was transformed to ferrite and spheroidized cementite. The most homogeneous microstructure was produced by deformation at the lowest strain rate, 0.001s-1. The strain rate also influenced spheroidized cementite size, with decreasing strain rate, the size of the formed spheroidized cementite increased.
