Kolejny międzynarodowy zjazd SBL przypom inał pod względem organizacji i założeń programowych zjazdy z 1990 r. w Wiedniu (zob. C T 61(1991)1,149-152) i z 1991 w Rzymie (CT 62(1992)1, 169-171). N atom iast zjazd w 1992 w Melbourne wspólny z 9 innymi organizacjami studiów nad religią miał nieco inny charakter, gromadząc uczestników z różnych dziedzin i w dużo większej liczbie (ok. 1500), głównie jednak z Australii i krajów sąsiednich; na tematy biblijne wygłoszono tam ok. 100 referatów, najwięcej ze sfery egzegezy i teologii NT.
W M ünster obecnych było ok. 400 osób, wygłoszono blisko 200 piętnasto-, trzydzies- to-m inutow ych referatów (po kilka równolegle). Dominowali uczeni z USA, Wielkiej Brytanii i Niemiec; z innych krajów odnotow ać m ożna kilkunastoosobowe grupy z H olandii, Izraela i RPA. Być może zjazd następny zaplanowany na 7-11 V III 1994 w Lowanium zgromadzi także uczestników francuskojęzycznych. Z Polski obecni byli oprócz niżej podpisanego orientaliści Z. K a p e r a (prezentował: New Research on Qumran in Eastern Europe) i A. Z a b o r s k i (Archaic Semitic in the Light o f Hamitosemitic).
Tem aty zgłoszone przez uczestników zostały odpowiednio podzielone na cykle tem atycz ne wg ksiąg biblijnych, kwestii ogólniejszych (np. m etodologia, historia egzegezy) i dyscyplin pomocniczych (semitystyka, świat starożytny). W program ie znalazły się też osobno zaplanow ane bardziej wyspecjalizowane kolokwia (Pwt, Ps, tekst N T, Betsaida). Odbyły się również dwa wykłady publiczne: M. W e 1 k e r, Schöpfung:«Big Bang» oder Siebentagewerk? oraz N . L o h f i n k , Psalmen im Neuen Testament - Die Lieder in der Kindheitsgeschichte Jesu bei Lukas. Uczestnicy mogli zwiedzić instytut studiów nad tekstem N T w M ünster kierowany obecnie przez B. Aland. D em onstrow ano też program komputerow y pom agający w pracy nad mniej czytelnymi i uszkodzonymi m anuskryptam i (zob. A. L a n g e , Computer Aided Text. Reconstruction and Transcription. C A TT-M anual, J.C.B. M ohr, Tübingen 1993). Wiele wydawnictw wystawiło swoje nowsze pozycje biblijne (Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft, Brill, M ohr (Siebeck), K ok Pharos, Sheffield, H erder, K ohlham m er, V andenhoeck-Ruprecht, N eukirchener, Eerdmans, De G ruyter, Peeters, Scholars Press).
Pełną listę referatów z „abstracts” podaje program sympozjum (egzemplarz złożony w bibliotece ATK: Society o f Biblical Literature 1993 International Meeting; tamże program z M elbourne 1992 International Congress for the Study o f Religion). Poniżej przedstawię w ybrane z nich w układzie tematycznym. M ożna będzie zauważyć, że w program ie zjazdu przeważał w tym roku ilościowo i jakościow o ST, a w sferze N T - je g o tło greckie i żydowskie.
