"A computer simulation model of the bronchoscopy procedure and its employment for developing and testing the methods for the estimation of displacement bronchofiberoscopic tip."
Estimation of the bronchofiberoscopy tip is a crucial issue in image based computer-assisted transbronchial needle aspiration biopsy. Its goal is to help a doctor to take a sample of a pathological lesion (found in computed means of needle
performed from a bronchial tree interior. The doctoral thesis describes the method that is based on images from the bronchofiberoscopic camera and 3D data from computed tomography. The aim of dissertation was to develop a parametric model of the bronchial tree, and its further employment in developing and testing of algorithms for estimating the position and rotation of the endoscope tip. The aims were successfully achieved and the final results were published by the Author.
