This thesis refers to the digital signal processing using FPGA structures for damage detection purposes with use of modal filtration method.
The author uses the characteristics of modern programmable logic devices to implement the damage detection system that can be successfully used in industry to monitor different kinds of objects.
The problem of damage detection using modal filtration method is known in the literature and verified in laboratory conditions, but at the moment of the beginning of the work, there were no commercial solutions that uses this method to detect damage. Within this work, a prototype of measurement – diagnostic device was built, that meets the assumptions and allows to perform full diagnostic process.
The paper presents the details of the digital logical structure used in the device for implementation of auxiliary algorithms and original solution on the minimization of dead time of pipelined data processing structures in FPGA devices. The proposed solution has been verified numerically and, after the prototype stage, tested on a laboratory and industrial conditions.
The verification results confirm the usefulness of the prototype and the method for detecting damage to objects in an industrial environment.
