W części doświadczalnej opracowano technologię otrzymywania tworzyw ogniotrwałych z układu ZrO2-CaO-MgO, a także scharakteryzowano otrzymane tworzywa w skali laboratoryjnej i przemysłowej. W eksperymencie pierwszym wykonano obliczenia termochemiczne w programie FactSage 6.4., gdzie wyznaczono rozpuszczalności składników stali w strukturze ZrO2. W drugim eksperymencie przeprowadzono statyczny test korozyjny w warunkach laboratoryjnych. W ostatnim eksperymencie przeprowadzono testy aplikacyjne materiałów w kadzi pośredniej. Na postawie tych badań wyznaczono powstanie budowy strefowej oraz określono reakcje chemiczne zachodzące w trakcie odlewania pomiędzy składnikami materiału ogniotrwałego a składnikami stali.
The metering nozzles are an element that allows the liquid steel to flow from the tundish to the crystallizer. Commercially, the nozzles are made of ZrO2 partially
stabilized with magnesium. In this work, new refractories from the ZrO2-CaO-MgO system have been proposed. The continuous steel casting and zirconium and perovskite ceramics was describe, paying attention to the interaction of ceramics with iron and manganese, as well as SiO2 and AI2O3 type inclusions. Four compositions were
and calcium zirconate was used as the modifier. In the experimental part, the technology for obtaining refractory materials from the ZrO2-CaO-MgO system was
developed, and the obtained materials were characterized. The next stage of the experimental part was conducting corrosion tests which were divided into 3 experiments. In the first experiment, thermochemical calculations were carried out in the FactSage 6.4 program, where solubilities of steel components in the ZrO2 structure were determined. In the second experiment, a static corrosion test was carried out under laboratory conditions. In the last experiment, application tests of materials in a tundish were carried out. On the basis of these tests, the formation of a zone structure was determined and the chemical reactions occurring during the casting between the components of the refractory material and the steel components were determined.
