Subject: Use of English – separable and inseparable phrasal verbs (3.6)
Cel: Ćwiczenie znajomości czasowników złożonych tzw. frazalnych / frazowych rozłącznych i nierozłącznych.
Poniższą notatkę proszę przepisać do zeszytu:
Czasowniki frazalne to takie czasowniki, które po dodaniu im partykuły (dodatkowego słówka) zmieniają swoje znaczenie, np.
Look – patrzeć Ale:
Look for – szukać
Look after – opiekować się
Look up – wyszukiwać (np. w słowniku, na wykazie) Look around – rozglądać się itd.
Czasowniki takie mogą mieć znaczenie:
• dosłowne, np. take off – zdjąć coś (z siebie)
• idiomatyczne, np. take off – startować (o samolocie)
Czasowniki zlożone dzielą sie również na:
• Nierozłączne – jak sama nazwa wskazuje, nie możemy rozłączyć czasownika i partykuły, np.:
Turn out – okazać się (np. że coś miało miejsce) Set off – wyruszyć (np. w podróż)
• Rozłączne – można oddzielić czasownik i partykułę i „włożyć” tam rzeczownik lub zaimek (dopełnienie), np.:
cd. na nastęnej stronie
Take off your shoes! Take your shoes off! Take them off!
rzeczownik rzeczownik zaimek
Uwaga: zaimka nie można zastosować, tak jak rzeczownika, po czasowniku.
Take off your shoes! Ale nie: Take off them.
