Ueber A bortw typhus. 5 Anhaltspuncte zur statistischen Vergleichung zu bekommen, indem es leicht moglich ware, dass andere Aerzte einen Theil unserer Febris typhoides, Febris gastrica oder G-astricismus febrilis bezeichnen, so die Zahl ilirer Typhen yermindern und dadurch bei faktiseh gleichen Erfolgen dennoch ein ungiłnstigeres Verhaltniss der Mortalitats- und Krankheitsdauer be
kommen wurden. Es wird hiedurch die Uebersicht erleichtert, indem wir gewisse Grenzen ein fur allemal festgesetzt haben, und so durch diese einfaehe Classiflcation schon einen bestimmten Symptomencomplex auszu- driicken vermogen. Auf O p p o l z e r ’s Klinik zu P r a g geschah 1847 eben- falls eine Scheidung in Typhus von leichterem und schwererem Yerlauf.“

„An Orten, wo Ileotyphus, exanthematisoher Typhus, Febria reeurrens, bilioses Typhoid, oder selbst Pest in hoherem Gr,ąde endemisch oder ge
rade epidemisch sind, erkranken violo Menschen an einem miissigen, j a oft sehr leichten, fieberhaften Leiden. Dieses kann nach seinen Sym- ptomen und seiner Dauer in lceinor Weise einem jener Typhusprocesse in voller Ausbildung zugeschriebon werden, aber es bestehen zwischen ihm und den im engeren Sinne so bozcichneten Typhusformen doch so viele atiologisehe und symptomatisclie Aehnlichkeiten, dass es ais leicliteste, unentwickeltste Form des Typhus zu betrachten ist. Selten kommen diese Er krankungen ohne gleichzeitig herrschenden Typhus sporadisch vor, scheinen aber selbst hier und da fiir sich allein kleine Epidemien zu ma
chen. Diese Fieber sind von den neueren englischen Pathologen ais Febri
cula, von anderer Seite zum Theil ais Ephemera, Febris continua simplex, Synocha ( D a v a s s e ) , auch ais Aborlivtyphen ( L e b e r t ) bezeichnet worden ; bei uns werden sie — aus gleich anzugebendcm Grunde — sehr haufig in praxi ais gastrische oder gastrisch-rheumatisclie Fieber aufgefasst. Trotz ihrer Itaufigkeit gehoren sie zu den am allerwenigsten studirten Krank- heitsproeossen, j a sie wurden in der loealisirendon Richtung der neueren Medicin zum Theil ganz iibergangen und geliiugnet, weil man sie gar keiner Organerkrankung zusclireiben konnte, wozu noch das kommt, dass sie in manchen Liindern, namentlich in Deutschland, bei weitem nicht so haufig sind, ais in anderen (England). Ich gestehe, ich hatte einen ganz unyollstandigen Begriflf von diesen Fallen, wenn ich nicht in Egypten so vlelfache Gelcgenheit gohabt hatte, sie kennen zu lernen."
