Kadencje Sejmu i Senatu Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej podaje się zgodnie z każdorazowym stanem
prawnym, obowiązującym w poszczególnych kadencjach, głównie z: ustawą z dnia 28 czerwca 1991 r. — Ordynacja wyborcza do Sejmu Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej (Dz. U. poz. 252; I kadencja Sejmu i II kadencja Senatu), Ustawą Konstytucyjną z dnia 17 października 1992 r. (Dz. U. poz. 426; II kadencja Sejmu i III ka-dencja Senatu) oraz Konstytucją Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej z dnia 2 kwietnia 1997 r., art. 98 (od III kadencji Sejmu i od IV kadencji Senatu).

U w a g a. I kadencja Senatu trwała od 18 czerwca 1989 r. do 25 listopada 1991 r., z tym że do 30 grudnia 1989 r. był to Senat Polskiej Rzeczypospolitej Ludowej, a od 31 grudnia 1989 r. — Senat Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej.
Terms of office of the Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland are each time presented
ac-cording to the law binding during particular terms, mainly with: the Law on Elections to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, dated 28th June 1991 (Journal of Laws item 252; I term of the Sejm and II term of the Senate), the Constitutional Act, dated 17th October 1992 (Journal of Laws item 426; II term of the Sejm and III term of the Senate) as well as the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, dated 2nd April 1997, Art. 98 (since III term of the Sejm and IV term of the Senate).
Terms of office: I of the Sejm and II of the Senate — from 25th November 1991 to 31st May 1993, II of the Sejm and III of the Senate — from 19th September 1993 to 20th October 1997, III of the Sejm and IV of the Senate — from 20th October 1997 to 18th October 2001, IV of the Sejm and V of the Senate — from 19th October 2001 to 18th October 2005, V of the Sejm and VI of the Senate — from 19th October 2005 to 4th November 2007, VI of the Sejm and VII of the Senate — from 5th November 2007 to 7th November 2011, VII of the Sejm and VIII of the Senate — from 8th November 2011 to 11th November 2015, VIII of the Sejm and IX of the Senate — since 12th November 2015 to 11th November 2019,

Wybory do Parlamentu Europejskiego w Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej odbyły się:
— w dniu 25 maja 2014 r. — wybrano 51 posłów (w tym 12 kobiet) spośród 1277 kandydatów zareje-strowanych na 130 listach kandydatów przez 12 komitetów wyborczych; łącznie oddano 7069,5 tys. głosów ważnych, co stanowi 96,88% ogólnej liczby oddanych głosów; frekwencja wyborcza wyniosła 23,82%;
— w dniu 26 maja 2019 r. — wybrano 52 posłów (w tym 18 kobiet) spośród 866 kandydatów zareje- strowanych na 87 listach kandydatów przez 9 komitetów wyborczych; łącznie oddano 13647,3 tys. głosów ważnych, co stanowi 99,18% ogólnej liczby oddanych głosów; frekwencja wyborcza wyniosła 45,68%.
Elections to the European Parliament in the Republic of Poland were held:

W czasie trwania VIII kadencji Sejm odbył 86 posiedzeń (obrady trwały 235 dni). Do Sejmu wpłynęło 1315 projektów ustaw, którym nadano numer druku. Posłowie uchwalili 930 ustaw, podjęli 390 uchwał oraz zgłosili 33851 interpelacji, 9888 zapytań poselskich i 835 pytań w sprawach bieżących.
W okresie tym działało 29 stałych komisji sejmowych, 4 komisje nadzwyczajne i 2 komisje śledcze, które odbyły łącznie 5452 posiedzenia oraz uchwaliły 1413 opinii i 281 dezyderatów, w tym komisje stałe odpo-wiednio: 5241, 1409 i 281.
W okresie od 12 listopada do 31 grudnia 2019 r. Sejm IX kadencji odbył 2 posiedzenia (obrady trwały 7 dni). Do Sejmu wpłynęło 38 projektów ustaw, którym nadano numer druku. Posłowie uchwalili 10 ustaw, podjęli 28 uchwał oraz zgłosili 1168 interpelacji, 111 zapytań poselskich i 11 pytań w sprawach bieżących.
W okresie tym działało 29 stałych komisji sejmowych, które odbyły 101 posiedzeń oraz uchwaliły 51 opinii i 11 dezyderatów.
During the VIII term, the Sejm held 86 sessions (lasting 235 days in total). 1315 draft bills with assigned form number were submitted to the Sejm. Deputies passed 930 laws, 390 resolutions and submitted 33851 interpellations as well as 9888 inquiries and 835 questions in current affairs.
During this period there were 29 standing Sejm committees, 4 special committees and 2 investigative committees, which held 5452 sessions in total and passed 1413 opinions as well as 281 desiderations, of which standing committees, respectively: 5241, 1409 and 281.
In the period from 12th November to 31st December 2019, the Sejm of the IX term held 2 sessions (last-ing 7 days in total). 38 draft bills with assigned form number were submitted to the Sejm. Deputies passed 10 laws, 28 resolutions and submitted 1168 interpellations as well as 111 inquiries and 11 questions in current affairs.
During this period there were 29 standing Sejm committees, which held 101 sessions and passed 51 opinions as well as 11 desiderations.
