E h e r sch o n w ä r e h eu te d ie F r a g e e rlau b t, ob nicht an d ie S te lle d es allzu w e n ig e n ein allzu v ie l g e treten ist, den n die F lu t d e r fa c h w is s e n s c h a ftlic h e n B ücher, V e rö ffe n tlic h u n g e n und B e iträ g e , die in den letzten Ja h r e n ü b er uns h e re in g e b ro c h e n ist, sch ein t a ll­

m ählich zu ein er S in tflu t zu w e rd e n , b ei d e r es fü r den einzelnen s c h w e r o d e r u n m ö g lich ist, den fe ste n B od en unter d en F ü ß e n zu b eh alten . S e h r bald a b e r so llte es sich ze ig en , d a ß E in h eitlich ­ keit nicht g le ic h b e d e u te n d mit G leic h h eit ist. M an e r­

kan n te, daß die v e rsc h ied en en R e c h n u n g sz w e c k e unter U m stän d en die E i n s e t z u n g v e r s c h i e d e n e r R e c h ­ n u n g s w e r t e e rfo rd erlich m achten. Z u e rs t tau ch te diese E rk e n n tn is im Z u sa m m e n h a n g m it d e r B e w e rtu n g der R o h s to ffe a u f, d e ren E in k a u fsp re is — w ie ihn die k a u f­

m än n isch e B u c h h a ltu n g a u sw ie s — d u rch au s nicht n o t­

w e n d ig e r w e is e die g e e ig n e te V e r re c h n u n g s g ru n d la g e fü r die V o r- und N ac h re ch n u n g bildete. H ie r e rw ie s sich die In flatio n als s tr e n g e L eh rm eisterin , den n sie z e ig te in g r o te s k e r V e rz e rru n g , w ie seh r im R ech t die w e n ig e n E rk en n en d en g e w e se n w a re n , d ie schon v o r d ie se r trü b en Z e it die N o tw e n d ig k e it ein er U n te rsc h e id u n g je nach dem Z w e c k e d e s R e c h n u n g sw e se n s erk an n t hatten. E s sei an d ie sich an sch ließ en d en en d lo sen A u sein a n d e rse tz u n g e n ü b er T a g e s - und W ie d e rb e sc h a ffu n g s p re ise , ü b e r R e p ro ­ d u k tio n sk o sten u sw . e rin n e rt; es s e i erin n ert an d ie v e r ­ d ie n stv o lle A r b e it d er W isse n sc h a ftle r, die d a s P ro b lem d e r » V e rre c h n u n g sp re ise « a u fg r iffe n und dam it W e g e er- ö ffn e te n , d ie sich als au ssich tsreic h erw ie se n , und die au ch h eu te noch k e in e s w e g s e rsc h ö p ft sind. E s w ü rd e zu w e it fü h ren , d ie A u sstra h lu n g e n d ie se r B e tra c h tu n g s ­ w e is e h ier im einzelnen au fzu fü h ren . V o n den zah lreichen E r fo lg e n , d ie ihr zu v e rd an k en sin d, s e i a b e r b eso n d e rs d e rje n ig e n g ed a ch t, die in d e r B eh an d lu n g d er s o g e n a n n ­ ten » v e rb u n d e n e n P ro d u k te « e rz ie lt w u rd e n , d. h. d e rje n ig e n v e rsc h ie d e n a rtig e n E r z e u g n is se , die au s ein und d e m ­ selb en F a b rik a tio n s g a n g e h e rv o rg e h e n . E r s t die L eh re der V e rre c h n u n g s p re is e hat d ie se s P ro b le m a u f eine fe ste und t r a g fä h ig e G ru n d la g e zu stellen verm och t.

In zw isch en ab e r w a r au f einem än d ern G e b ie te eine B e tra c h tu n g s w e is e h e ra n g e re ift, die v o n noch g rö ß e re r T r a g w e ite fü r d as g e s a m te R e c h n u n g sw e se n w e rd e n s o llte : die E rk en n tn is v o n d er A b h ä n g i g k e i t d e r K o s t e n v o n d e m j e w e i l i g e n B e s c h ä f t i g u n g s g r a d e . A uch d ie s e r G e d a n k e n g a n g ist an sich natü rlich nicht neu. J a s o g a r in th e o re tisch e r H in sic h t w a r d a s G e b ie t durch V e rö ffe n tlic h u n g e n v o n S ch m alen b ach b ereits v o r fa st einem Ja h rz e h n t g e n a u und ein d rin g lich a b g e s te c k t w o r ­ den. In diesen V e rö ffe n tlic h u n g e n w a r die E in teilu n g d er in d u striellen K o ste n in so g e n a n n te fix e , p ro p o rtio n ale, d e g re s s iv e und p r o g re s s iv e v o r g e s c h la g e n , eine E in teilu n g, die u n m ittelb ar m it dem je w e ilig e n B e sc h ä ftig u n g s g ra d im Z u sa m m e n h a n g steh t. S ie b em ü h t sich , d ie A b h ä n g ig k e it d er K osten v o n d e r m eh r o d e r w e n ig e r g ü n s tig e n A u s n u tz u n g des B e tr ie b e s und se in e r einzelnen W e rk s tä tte n zu ergrü n d en , und au s d ie s e r ih re r E rk e n n tn is lä ß t sie sic h b ei den fü r d ie Z u k u n ft b estim m ten M aß n ah m e n leiten .

Im Z u sa m m e n h a n g m it d ie se n und äh n lich en B e tra c h ­ tu n g e n h at sic h d ie F u n k tio n d e r B e tr ie b s r e c h n u n g in letz te r Z e it v o lls tä n d ig g e w a n d e lt ; d a s R e c h n u n g sw e se n h at d a m it ein e B e d e u tu n g g e w o n n e n , v o n d e r bis v or k ü rz e s te r Z e it sich nu r w e n ig e w e it e r a u ssc h a u e n d e K ö p fe e tw a s trä u m e n ließ en . D a s F a b rik a tio n s p r o g ra m m , die P r e is g e s t a lt u n g , d a s A n g e b o ts w e s e n , d ie F in a n z ie ru n g s ­ m aß n a h m en , k u rz u m , die g e s a m te G e s c h ä ft s p o lit ik baut sich a u f d ie sen Z if fe r n a u f u n d e m p fä n g t von ih r d ie­

je n ig e n A n r e g u n g e n und B e g rü n d u n g e n , die in d e r V e r ­ g a n g e n h e it tü c h tig e U n te rn e h m e r m eh r o d e r w e n ig e r g e ­ fü h ls m ä ß ig e rfaß ten . W a h rsc h e in lic h b eh au p te ich zuviel, w e n n ich s a g e , d a ß es sch o n a llen th alb e n so ist, aber d ie E rk e n n tn is ist a u f dem M a rsc h e , und d a m it ist b e­

Sc h e in b a r e tw a s a b lie g e n d v o n d ie s e r B etrac h tu n g und do ch , w ie s o g le ic h k la r w e rd e n w ird , a u f d a s en g ste m it ihr v e rk n ü p ft, ist d ie F r a g e n ach dem M a ß s t a b , m it H ilfe d e s s e n d a s g u te o d e r sch lech te A rb e ite n d e s e i n z e l n e n B e t r i e b e s zu m e ssen ist. A u ch hier sah m an u rs p rü n g lic h kau m ein P ro b le m . W ie la n g e ist es sch ließ lich h er, daß m an g la u b te , in dem s o g e n a n n te n Be- tr ie b sz u s c h la g e fü r U n k o ste n ein en M a ß s ta b zu besitzen, um zw e i B e trie b e m ite in an d e r zu v e r g le ic h e n ? A u f G run d d ie se s V e r g le ic h e s , d er sich n a tü rlich ste ts a u f v e rg a n g e n e Z e iträ u m e stü tz te , g la u b te m an, d en einen B e trie b als te u e r, d en än d e rn als b illig e r a rb e ite n d b ezeich n en zu k önnen. E r w ie s d a rau f hin, daß die S e lb stk o s te n v o n allen E le m e n te n b e re in ig t w e rd e n m ü ssen , d ie m it d e r eig e n tlich e n E r z e u g u n g nichts zu tun hab en . B e k a n n tlic h g ib t es ja u n g e z ä h lte a u ß e r­

b e trie b lich e E in flü s s e s o w o h l a u f d e r E in n ah m e - w ie au f d e r A u s g a b e s e ite , d ie d a s B ild d e r E r z e u g u n g s k o s te n trü b e n u n d v e rw is c h e n . B isw e ile n hat m an v ersu ch t, d u rch Z u sam m en rech n u n g d e r E r z e u g u n g s k o s te n v e rsc h ie d e n e r B etrieb e d e s g leic h en G e s c h ä ft s z w e ig e s einen m ittleren W ert zu g ew in n e n , um m it d iesem dann die K o sten d e s einzelnen B e trie b e s zu v e rg le ic h e n . W as m an h ierb ei e r ­ hält, ist a b e r nu r ein M itte lw e rt, d e r v o lk s w irts c h a ftlic h eine g e w is s e B e d e u tu n g h aben m ag , fü r den k ritisch en V ergleich d e r B e trie b e m itein an d er ab e r so g u t w ie nichts au ssag t. Z u v e rw u n d e rn ist es nicht, w e n n es an s o l­

chem g em ein sam en M a ß sta b e feh lt.
