Opisany w niniejszym tekście projekt badawczy miał na celu zbadanie zależności po-między storytellingiem a zaangażowaniem konsumentów wobec marki w mediach spo-łecznościowych. Zrealizowano dosyć obszerny eksperyment, który pozwolił na ocenę związku pomiędzy reklamami zawierającymi formy narracyjne a reakcjami konsumen-tów o różnym poziomie wiedzy na temat reklamowanej kategorii. Zaobserwowano, że storytelling nie ma znaczącego wpływu na nowicjuszy, natomiast najlepiej oddziałuje na ekspertów, czyli osoby o wysokiej wiedzy produktowej. Informacja ta może być bardzo przydatna nie tylko dla badaczy reklam, ale również dla praktyków marketingu, reklamo-dawców, którzy szukają atrakcyjnych i efektywnych rozwiązań reklamowych, by dotrzeć do określonych segmentów odbiorów w Internecie.
Warto wspomnieć o dwóch ograniczeniach zaprezentowanego w niniejszym tekście projektu. Po pierwsze, uzyskane wyniki pozostają nie w pełni spójne z rezultatem badaw-czym otrzymanym przez Matillę [2000, ss. 35–45; 2002, 379–395]: zauważyła ona bowiem, że eksperci reagują podobnie na reklamy ze storytellingiem i na reklamy faktualne (czyli sformatowane jako lista rzeczowych argumentów), natomiast wśród nowicjuszy większą wartość perswazyjną ma przekaz wykorzystujący opowieści. Należy jednak podkreślić, iż realizowane 18 lat temu przez Matillę badanie było oparte na reklamach tekstowych, które często uzyskują wyniki odwrotne niż reklamy w formie filmu [Lien, Chen 2013, ss. 516–522; Shen, Sheer, Li 2015, ss. 105–113]. W ramach przyszłych eksperymentów powinno się za-tem zgłębić tę za-tematykę oraz dokładniej porównać potencjał reklamowy storytellingu kie-rowanego do różnego typu konsumentów w formule werbalnej versus wizualnej.
Drugie ograniczenie wynika z charakteru zrealizowanej manipulacji eksperymental-nej. Do badania bowiem wykorzystano reklamy rzeczywiste, a nie fikcyjne. Taki zabieg zwiększa trafność zewnętrzną eksperymentu, ale może rodzić zastrzeżenia co do jego trafności wewnętrznej. Mimo że autorka wprowadziła stosowne rozwiązania kontrolne (np. pomiary realizowano w odniesieniu do wielu marek i filmów – zgodnie zalecenia-mi metodologicznyzalecenia-mi w najnowszej literaturze światowej [Geuens, De Pelsmacker 2017, ss. 83–100]), to należy zachować pewną ostrożność przy próbie uogólniania tych wy-ników na kategorie produktowe o odmiennej charakterystyce (np. produkty niskiego zaangażowania lub szybko zbywalne).
