6.2. Ograniczenia badań własnych i kierunki dalszych badań

Przeprowadzane badania nie są wolne od ograniczeń. Jednym z nich jest to, że przyjęte koncepcje i pomiar dobrostanu wydobywają perspektywę 1. osoby. Można zadać sobie pytanie, jak postrzeganie przez człowieka siebie samego, relacji, świata ma się do rzeczywistości? Warto zwrócić uwagę, że ważne jest nie tylko czy postrzeganie jest pozytywne,

138 ale też czy jest adekwatne. Zatem kierunek dalszych badań mógłby uwzględniać perspektywę 3. osoby w ocenie dobrostanu, żeby wzmocnić adekwatność oceny dobrostanu.

Ograniczeniem badań własnych było to, że jedynie wartości były mierzone jakościowo i ilościowo. w dalszych badaniach można by też wprowadzić badania jakościowe do pomiaru dobrostanu. Można byłoby rozważyć metodę dzienniczkową, która by minimalizowała rolę pamięci i interpretacji doświadczenia, mogłaby ukazywać to, co się dzieje na poziomie poznawczym i afektywnym „tu i teraz”.

Ograniczeniem badań własnych jest też to, że w badanej grupie była dominacja kobiet.

w kolejnych badaniach warto przeprowadzić osobne analizy dla kobiet i mężczyzn oraz dla różnych grup wiekowych. Tutaj można by zaproponować badania longitudinalne, żeby uchwycić zmianę jaka następuje w różnych okresach rozwojowych i rzeczywisty wpływ wcześniejszych preferencji wartości na późniejszy dobrostan.

Kierunkiem dalszych badań może być też przyjrzenie się temu, jak wartości różnicują oba różne aspekty dobrostanu, gdyż wartości z grup przekraczanie siebie i otwartość na zmiany zarówno w pomiarze kwestionariuszowym jak i w pytaniu otwartym nie różnicowały zbyt wyraźnie dobrostanu hedonistycznego od eudajmonistycznego. Być może warto w przyszłych badaniach zrekonceptualizować dobrostan, aby wyodrębnić w nim aspekty wyraźniej się od siebie różniące na poziomie teoretycznym oraz empirycznym.
