Der Verein zur Förderung des naturwissenschaft
lichen und mathematischen Unterrichts begann heute in den Mauern der Provinzialhaupfstadt Posen seine XIX . H a u p t v e r s a m m l u n g . Die Beteiligung ist eine außerordentlich zahlreiche. Schon gestern abend war die Gesamtzahl der gemeldeten Teilnehmer auf 199 angewachsen, unter denen sich 96 Auswärtige be
finden; auch mehrere Damen gehören zu den Teilneh
mern. Wir begrüßen die Versammlung aufs herzlichste und wünschen den Beratungen einen guten Erfolg.
Möge die geleistete Arbeit der Wissenschaft ein Dienst sein. Wir hoffen auch, daß die zum Teil aus weiter Ferne herbeigeeilten Teilnehmer sich in der Ostmark wohlfühleu und daß für sie die hier verlebten Tage eine angenehme Erinnerung sein werden.
Gestern abend versammelten sich die Teilnehmer in Mvlius Hotel zu einem B e g r ü ß u n g s a b e n d .
Als die Anwesenden, die den großen Saal bei Mylius anfüllten, gebeten wurden, Namen und Wohnort laut zu verkünden, zeigte sich, daß eine große Anzahl von Herren recht weite Reisen nicht gescheut hatten, um der Versammlung beizuwohnen. Man hörte die Worte: Dr e s d e n , Mü n c h e n , E r e i b u r g , H a m b u r g , B i e b r i c h usw. Nachdem alte Bekannte, die sich Jahre, ja Jahrzehnte lang nicht gesehen hatten, sich herzlich begrüßt und alte Erinnerungen ausgetauscht hatten, ergriff der Vorsitzende des Ortsausschusses, Professor Dr. S p i e s , das Wort, um in launigerWeise die Erschienenen willkommen zu heißen.
